In 1995, Werner Enterprises opened a truck museum at its Omaha, Nebraska headquarters.  Some of the first vehicles showcased in the museum included a replica of C.L.'s 1956 Ford truck and his 1985 Peterbilt show truck.  The collection captures the essence of Werner's nostalgic past and features the evolution of the trucking industry through the years.

Werner's trucks and museum later captured the attention of the world- renowned Smithsonian Museum.  In 2002, the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History asked Werner Enterprises to be a part of an exhibition entitled America on the Move.  Werner contributed a 1984 Peterbilt 359 model tractor and flatbed trailer, among other trucking-related items.  This particular artifact became a part of the Smithsonian's permanent exhibition which opened in 2003.

The Smithsonian's America on the Move exhibition highlighted the country's transportation development from 1876 to 1999.  Werner Enterprises'  inclusion in the Smithsonian's exhibit affirms the significant role Werner  played in the development of the nation's transportation system.
